Health Department provides curative health services and promotes preventive health care services at the grass roots level across the diocese. This is done through the direct provision of services in existing Diocesan health facilities, community outreach, education and capacity building of community resource persons. READ MORE
WATER, SANITATION & HYGIENE
WASH programme supports community based water projects aimed at building community initiatives to access water for domestic and livestock. It also supports sanitation and hygiene through construction of water and sanitation facilities such as earth dams/pans, wells, boreholes, tanks and improved ventilated pit latrines. READ MORE
JUSTICE & PEACE
Justice & Peace Programme promotes peaceful co-existence among communities across the diocese by creating and implementing supportive peace building and conflict transformation initiatives. It closely works with faith groups and Government to promote tolerance and peace to improved community access to resources and promotion of human rights. READ MORE
Sustainable Livelihoods programme provides capacity building for community groups of especially the disadvantaged members, such as women groups, youth groups and mixed groups to enhance their production skills, promote solidarity among them, and economic empowerment in order to establish micro projects for income generation for the groups in villages spread over the whole diocese. DISASTER RISK REDUCTION
Disaster Management programme focuses in building safer, resilient and sustainable communities in Marsabit in the light of recurrent shocks. This is done through creating awareness and training in disaster preparedness, climate change, environmental management and supporting communities to take measures in tree planting, marketing of livestock, enhancing nutrition status. Emergency Response programme addresses the emergent needs of the affected populations in Marsabit County to alleviate drought and other emergency situations that inflict human suffering in Marsabit Diocese. Climate Resilent Agriculture Project implemented by Caritas Marsabit with funds from CAFOD helps farmers in Marsabit County to their farms and provide them with seeds.
